BOARD & TRAIN

Real-Life Training. Real-Life Results.

Our Board & Train program is designed for owners who want to give their dog the strongest possible foundation in the shortest amount of time.

Rather than attending a lesson once or twice each week, your dog lives in a structured training environment where learning takes place throughout the day—not just during scheduled training sessions. Every walk, meal, interaction, and daily routine becomes an opportunity to reinforce good behavior and build lasting habits.

This level of consistency allows dogs to progress more quickly while developing the confidence, reliability, and self-control needed to become exceptional companions.

We know leaving your dog with someone else is a big decision. That’s why we keep you involved throughout the process with photo and video updates so you can watch your dog’s progress and celebrate every milestone along the way.

Why Choose
Board & Train?

Training isn’t something that happens for one hour a day.
Dogs learn through repetition, consistency, and daily experiences.

Our Board & Train program provides hundreds of opportunities each week to practice good behavior in real-world situations, helping your dog develop
habite that become second nature.

Whether your goal is raising a well-mannered puppy, achieving reliable obedience, or overcoming behavioral challenges, Board & Train offers the fastest and most effective path to lasting success.

A home Environment
- not a kennel

Unlike many large commercial training facilities, dogs in our Board & Train program live in a real home environment with a designated trainer.

This allows us to teach the behaviors that matter most in everyday life-relaxing in the house, waiting politely at doors, greeting visitors appropriately, walking calmly on leash, and learning how to become enjoyable members of the family.

Because that’s exactly where your dog will spend most of its life.

WHAT YOUR DOG WILL LEARN

A successful training program doesn’t end when your dog comes home.

Before and after graduation, we’ll spend time teaching you how to communicate with your dog. reinforce good behavior, and maintain everything your dog has learned.

Because the goal isn’t simply to train your dog…

Dogs in our Board & Train program are not simply exercised—they’re educated. Every interaction has a purpose. Every walk is a training opportunity. Every meal reinforces manners. Every day builds confidence, reliability, and trust.

At SMART DOGS, we don’t believe in shortcuts.
We believe in creating confident dogs, educating owners, and developing lifelong habits through consistency, structure, and experience.

Whether your dog stays with us for puppy development, advanced obedience, or behavior modification, our goal remains the same:

To return a dog that is more confident, more reliable, and better prepared to become the companion you’ve always wanted.

Because a trained dog isn’t just easier to live with…
It’s happier, more confident, and has the freedom to enjoy more of life with you.

FAQ SECTION

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will my dog miss me? Will my dog remember me?

Dogs live in the present. While they don’t reminisce about the past the way people do, they form strong, lasting associations with the people they love. When you pick up your dog, they’ll absolutely recognize you and be excited to see you. During their stay, however, dogs quickly settle into their new routine. Their days are filled with training, structure, exercise, and interaction, allowing them to focus on learning new habits rather than worrying about being away from home.

Yes—but we recommend allowing us to determine the best time for a visit. Our goal is to create consistency and help your dog fully settle into the training process. In some cases, an early visit can interrupt that progress or create unnecessary anxiety if your dog sees you but isn’t going home yet. If we believe a visit will benefit your dog, we’ll gladly arrange one.

Nothing at all. We provide everything your dog needs during their stay, including bedding, bowls, toys, and training equipment. We want every dog to settle into a consistent routine from day one. If your dog has special dietary or medical needs, we’ll discuss those with you during your evaluation.

Every dog is different. The length of training depends on your goals, your dog’s temperament, and the program we recommend. Most Board & Train courses range from 2 to 5 weeks, allowing enough time to build reliable behaviors rather than temporary results.

That depends on your dog’s maturity and individual needs. Many puppies are ready to begin training as early as 12 weeks of age, while older dogs can benefit just as much. During your evaluation, we’ll recommend the most appropriate program based on your dog’s age, development, and training goals.

Graduation is just the beginning. Before your dog goes home, we’ll spend time teaching you how to communicate with your dog, reinforce the training, and continue building on everything they’ve learned.

Our goal isn’t just to train your dog—it’s to train you as well. When owners remain consistent, the training becomes part of everyday life, and the results continue to improve over time.

Yes—with one important understanding. We guarantee that your dog will learn the skills included in the training program while they’re with us. When your dog graduates, we’ll demonstrate those skills so you can see the results firsthand. Like learning any new skill, long-term success depends on continued practice and consistency at home. We can’t live with your dog after training, but we will coach and support you every step of the way.
If you’re committed to following through, we’re committed to helping you succeed.
